Job Description: Server (Upscale Restaurant)

Position Overview: We are seeking a professional and experienced Server to join our team at our upscale restaurant. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their dining experience is memorable and enjoyable. You will have a thorough knowledge of our menu offerings, be able to make recommendations, and deliver prompt and efficient service. The ideal candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills, be knowledgeable about food and beverages, and maintain a polished appearance at all times.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and serving food and beverages promptly and accurately.
2. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to confidently make recommendations and answer guest inquiries.
3. Ensure guests' needs are met and expectations are exceeded throughout their dining experience, by regularly checking on tables and addressing any concerns or special requests.
4. Upsell menu items, daily specials, and beverages to maximize sales and enhance the overall guest experience.
5. Collaborate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow, timely delivery of orders, and proper coordination of food and beverages.
6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tables, dining areas, and service stations, to ensure a high level of cleanliness and efficiency.
7. Process guest payments accurately, handling cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment in a secure and professional manner.
8. Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of guests.
9. Assist in preparing the dining area for service, including setting tables, arranging table settings, and ensuring an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere.
10. Collaborate with team members and management to create a positive work environment and contribute to a strong team spirit.

Requirements:

1. Previous serving experience in an upscale restaurant or fine dining establishment is preferred.
2. Extensive knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including wine and cocktail recommendations.
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide courteous and attentive service to guests.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively.
5. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to anticipate guest needs.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and grace.
7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operational needs.
8. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy trays or equipment when necessary.
9. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
